KTM Launches Global-Spec 390 Enduro R In India - The One For The Off-Road Enthusiasts
The much-anticipated global-spec KTM 390 Enduro R has finally been launched in India. Priced at Rs 3,53,825 (ex-showroom) and designed for serious off-road enthusiasts, the global-spec KTM 390 Enduro R costs Rs 15,000 (ex-showroom) more than the previously launched toned-down India-spec Enduro R.
The introduction of the global-spec KTM 390 Enduro R model is a significant development for KTM fans in India. Previously, only a toned-down version of the 390 Enduro R was available locally. This version had a lower seat height and less aggressive hardware to appeal to a broader audience. However, it fell short of the expectations of hardcore off-roader community due to its reduced suspension travel and ground clearance.

Enhanced Off-Road Capabilities
The international-spec Enduro R addresses these concerns effectively. It boasts 230mm of suspension travel at both ends, compared to the 200-205mm on the India-specific model. Additionally, it offers a ground clearance of 273mm, which is 19mm more than its predecessor. These improvements ensure better performance on challenging terrains and align the Indian model with its global counterpart.
This new variant is targeted at riders who prioritise off-road capabilities over urban convenience. The seat height stands at 890 mm, which might not be ideal for shorter riders but offers greater suspension articulation and trail clearance. This trade-off is something many adventure riders are willing to make for enhanced trail performance.

Despite these changes, the rest of the mechanical setup remains consistent with the standard 390 Adventure model. It features a single-cylinder 399cc engine known for delivering robust mid-range torque and excellent throttle response, making it suitable for both trails and highways. The engine pushes out 46hp and 39Nm of torque.
Catering to Diverse Rider Preferences
KTM's decision to launch the international-spec model follows extensive feedback from enthusiasts regarding the earlier India-specific version. Many expressed dissatisfaction with its deviation from global standards and demanded the original version, even if it meant paying a premium price.
With this launch, KTM India now caters to both accessibility-focused riders and purist off-roaders. By offering both versions of the Enduro R, they address the needs of a wider range of customers while maintaining their commitment to high-performance off-roading.
