EICMA 2025: BSA Thunderbolt 334 ADV Unveiled - The Return Of A Classic

BSA has revealed its first-ever adventure motorcycle, the BSA Thunderbolt 334 ADV, at EICMA 2025. The reveal marks the brand's fourth new model and follows the launches of the Bantam 350 and Scrambler 650, signalling the quick expansion of the revived British marque under Classic Legends.

The Thunderbolt carries forward the name of an earlier BSA model, which historically offered touring and off-road ability. This new Thunderbolt is positioned as the modern successor to the final bike that rolled off BSA's Birmingham production line in 1972.

The motorcycle is powered by a 334cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine. It is Euro 5+ compliant and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The fuel tank capacity is 15.5 litres, designed to handle long-distance travel.

BSA highlights a focus of the engine on torque and tractability, with the configuration chosen to balance highway cruising and off-road performance. The Thunderbolt features traction control and three ABS modes - Rain, Road, and Off-Road.

The chassis is supported by USD front forks and a preload-adjustable mono rear shock. The suspension setup is designed to handle gravel roads, broken surfaces, and soft mud scenarios. A reinforced bash plate, integrated exoskeleton frame, knuckle guards, and upswept exhaust are included for durability and water crossing capability.

Other highlights include an adjustable windscreen, an adjustable instrument console, and wide handlebars. The seat height is kept accessible, and BSA says the bike is intended for riders of varying experience levels.

The Thunderbolt includes modern connectivity through Bluetooth, turn-by-turn navigation, and USB charging. The rear subframe can accommodate a pillion rider and luggage targeting an audience looking for an adventure tourer than can do long journeys.

Classic Legends confirms that the Thunderbolt is built on a new ADV platform. This engineering base will be shared across the brands BSA, Jawa, and Yezdi. According to the company, the shared platform strategy enables better efficiency across multiple markets while preserving each brand's design identity.

Boman Irani, Director and Co-founder of Classic Legends, stated:
"The new BSA Thunderbolt is adventure-ready and engineered to go the distance. Combining dynamic on and off-roading capabilities, unrivalled performance, and effortless usability, our new bike inspires confidence. It's for riders with a 'go anywhere and do anything attitude who seek new destinations and want to trust that their motorcycle will not just get them to where they want to go, it will excite every sense along the way. BSA doesn't just build motorcycles, it builds legends and the new BSA Thunderbolt proudly carries that legacy forward."
