Ducati Desmo450MX Revealed At ISRL Season 2 Finale; India Launch In Q1 2026
Ducati has unveiled the Desmo450MX motorcycle at the Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL) Season 2 Finale in Calicut, marking the Italian brand's first step into the off-road Motocross segment. With motorsport culture rapidly gaining popularity in India, Ducati's launch of a motocross machine is more likely to attract many enthusiasts and racers.
Ducati Debuts the Desmo450MX at ISRL 2025
This one is a fully off-road-focused motorcycle designed for pure motocross racing. It is built to tackle dirt, mud, and rugged terrains with ease. Its styling includes tall front and rear mudguards inspired by the Hypermotard family, and the livery reflects Ducati's racing heritage with Ducati Corse. This bike is for both amateur and pro riders who seek maximum performance and reliability.

It is compactly designed, prioritising maximum rider control and superior handling. The Desmo450MX is built on a lightweight aluminium frame that balances lightness, strength, and rigidity. The bike's overall kerb weight is just 104.8 kg, making it very easy to manage and suitable for riders of all kinds. The seat has also been textured purposely to provide maximum grip during high-intensity riding.
It is powered by a 449.6 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 63.5 hp at 9,400 rpm and 53.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox equipped with a Quickshifter (up only).

The suspension setup features premium Showa 49 mm USD front forks offering an impressive 310 mm travel, and a fully adjustable rear mono-shock suspension for enhanced comfort over rough terrain. Additionally, it is equipped with a 260 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc. The motorcycle features a Takasago Excel rim with Alpina spokes mounted on aluminium hubs, paired with Pirelli Scorpion MX32 tyres that provide high grip, durability, and performance.
The Motorcycle also comes equipped with several rider-friendly features, including Riding Modes, Ducati Traction Control, Engine Brake Control, an hourmeter, Ducati Fall Detection, quick-adjustment buttons, a Wi-Fi module, X-Link app connectivity, and Power Launch control.
Once launched, the Desmo450MX is expected to rival other motocross bikes, such as the Kawasaki KLX 450R, priced at 9.61 lakh (ex-showroom), and the KTM 450 SX-F, priced at 10.25 lakh (ex-showroom). We expect Ducati to price this motorcycle somewhere around 11 lakh (ex-showroom).
