EICMA 2025: Ducati Unveils 2026 Desert X Prototype
Italian Motorcycle brand Ducati has unveiled its new 2026 Desert X Prototype bike at the EICMA 2025. The bike was completely camouflaged, and the body looked slimmer than the current-gen bike. This bike will also benefit from their new V2 IVT engine.

Talking about the design, the bike now looks more compact, with a newly designed front windscreen. It now gets a single-piece floating seat instead of a split seat, with more padding that extends a little further to the tank. The body is completely reworked and redesigned to give a more aggressive feel.
The current generation's trellis frame is more likely to be replaced by a monocoque aluminium front frame. The trellis sub-frame is still present, but with a different design. We also have a new skid plate and exhaust system in this 2026 prototype.
The 2026 Ducati DesertX has the new V2 IVT (Intake Variable Timing) engine, which produces 110 hp at 9000 rpm and 92 Nm of torque at 7000 rpm. The power levels are lower than the Hypermotard V2, Panigale V2, and Streetfighter V2, but this was tuned for strong mid-range performance.
A new progressive linkage has been used at the rear shock to get better off-road control and handling. The front suspension gets the same golden-coloured forks with a new Brembo brake calliper.
All these changes were made to make the bike compact and lighter than the current model. This ensures a strong performance in all terrains and conditions. The front twin LED light setup looks similar to the current bike and is more likely to use the same TFT display.
Ducati hasn't released the full specs of the upcoming Ducati DesertX. The bike is expected to be launched around February 2026. The deliveries would begin by the middle of next year, first in Europe, followed by North America and Australia. We aren't aware of its launch in India yet.
