Bajaj Auto has reached a significant milestone with its Chetak electric scooter, selling over 5 lakh units since its launch in January 2020. The scooter has established a strong presence in urban and semi-urban markets, reflecting growing consumer confidence in electric mobility solutions.

Rising demand is supported by a combination of expanding charging infrastructure, enhanced product features, and increasing awareness among urban commuters seeking low-emission, cost-effective transportation.

The Chetak is offered in multiple variants to suit diverse commuting needs. The Chetak 3001 features a 3kWh battery, providing a city range of approximately 95-100 km per charge. Priced at ₹99,990 ex-showroom, it caters to daily urban riders looking for reliable and efficient transportation.

Higher-end variants include the 3501, 3502, and 3503, each equipped with a 3.5kWh battery. These models offer extended ranges between 120-125 km, premium finishes, and enhanced features. The 3501 starts at ₹1.19 lakh, the 3502 at ₹1.29 lakh, and the 3503 is priced at ₹1.35 lakh ex-showroom, providing buyers with flexible options for longer commutes and added comfort.

Bajaj has maintained production despite global supply chain challenges, including a shortage of rare-earth magnets. Deliveries have resumed across all dealerships, ensuring buyers can access their chosen models without delays. The company's extensive 3,800+ service touchpoints nationwide further support ownership and maintenance, making it easier for customers to adopt electric mobility.

The Chetak combines a steel frame and aluminium alloy body panels for durability and lightness, while its brushless hub motor ensures smooth acceleration and consistent performance. Regenerative braking optimises battery efficiency, and the digital instrument cluster provides speed, battery percentage, and estimated range, enhancing the commuter experience.

Urban riders benefit from the practical range, low running costs, and premium design. Mid-range variants with the 3.5kWh battery provide longer rides, improved comfort, and additional features suitable for daily travel and weekend trips. These specifications have helped the Chetak maintain a strong market presence and attract both new buyers and returning customers.

With 5 lakh units sold, the Bajaj Chetak stands out as one of India's leading premium electric scooters. Consistent production, wide service coverage, and a variant lineup offering decent range continue to strengthen its position in the growing electric two-wheeler segment.
