For commercial vehicles, things were mixed domestically but strong overseas. In India, sales dipped a little-52,064 units versus the 52,554 units sold in September 2024, a drop of 1 per cent.
On the export front, the jump was serious: 27,587 units were shipped out, up from 16,488, marking a 67 per cent rise year-over-year. Combined, commercial vehicle sales hit 79,651 units, up 15 per cent from the 69,042 units sold in September last year.

In that stretch, domestic two-wheeler sales declined 8 per cent, dropping to 11,25,920 units from 12,19,298. But exports for bikes saw strong growth at 17 per cent, with 8,91,858 units shipped versus 7,64,827 earlier. That meant total two-wheeler sales across six months edged ahead 2 per cent to 20,17,778 units.
