Ather Energy To Unveil EL Platform At Community Day 2025 - The Affordable Ather Is Almost Upon Us
Ather Energy is gearing up for its annual Community Day 2025, set to occur in late August. The company plans to unveil its new scooter platform, EL, along with other innovations. While the exact date remains undisclosed, anticipation is building around the event's announcements.
At this year's Community Day, Ather will introduce the EL platform and concept vehicles, potentially based on this new design. The EL platform is designed to be adaptable and cost-effective, allowing Ather to broaden its product range. This move aims to address the absence of a sub-Rs 1 lakh offering in Ather's lineup, which should help it challenge rivals from Bajaj, TVS, Ola Electric, Vida (Hero), and Greaves Electric that compete in that segment.
New Fast Chargers and Software Updates
Ather is also developing next-generation Grid fast chargers. These chargers promise faster and more convenient charging experiences. Currently, Ather Grid chargers can recharge any Ather e-scooter at 1.5km/min and Vida e-scooters at 1.2km/min due to Vida's use of Ather's open-source charger connector.
The upcoming event will also see the debut of Ather Stack 7.0 operating software. This updated software stack is expected to introduce additional features to enhance user experience across Ather products.
Milestones and Market Position
Ather Rizta, launched at a previous Community Day as a family-oriented model, has recently achieved a significant milestone by surpassing one lakh unit sales. This success highlights Ather's growing presence in the electric two-wheeler market.
Despite being a key player in the electric two-wheeler sector, Ather lacks an offering below Rs 1 lakh. The introduction of the EL platform could change this scenario by providing more affordable options for consumers.
