Ather Rizta Z To Get New OTA Update With Full Touchscreen Funtionality, Eco Mode & New UI
At its 2025 Community Day, Ather Energy announced a host of updates and future plans, with one of the biggest highlights being the upcoming over-the-air (OTA) update for the Ather Rizta Z. Existing customers of the family-oriented electric scooter will soon benefit from a set of enhancements designed to improve convenience, efficiency and overall riding experience.
OTA Update For Existing Customers
The Rizta Z, which has been positioned as Ather's practical and family-friendly electric scooter, will soon receive OTA updates that unlock full touchscreen functionality. According to the company, the scooter's hardware has always been capable of supporting advanced features, and this update will finally put them into action.

The update will also introduce a refreshed user interface and a new Eco mode. While the standard riding modes already balance performance and range, the new Eco mode has been designed to maximise efficiency without significantly compromising on usability. For many Indian riders, especially those with high daily commutes, this will be a welcome addition.
Community Day Highlights
The Ather Community Day wasn't just about the Rizta Z. The Bengaluru-based manufacturer also showcased two striking concept models - the EL01 and the Redux - underlining its ambitions for the future. Ather also demonstrated a cruise control feature for its flagship performance scooter, the Ather 450 Apex, further solidifying its credentials in both innovation and rider-focused upgrades.
New Colour Option & Pricing
Adding to the Rizta Z's appeal, Ather has introduced a new Terracotta Red colour scheme. Mechanically, however, the scooter remains unchanged. The top-spec Rizta Z continues with its 4.3kW electric motor paired to a 3.7kWh battery pack, delivering a blend of city-friendly performance and everyday usability. Pricing stands at ₹1.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
DriveSpark Thinks
With OTA updates becoming the norm in the EV space, Ather's decision to roll out advanced features for existing customers reinforces its long-term commitment to product evolution. By offering technology upgrades without the need for a physical hardware change, Ather is not only extending the lifecycle of the Rizta Z but also improving customer satisfaction - a crucial factor in the competitive electric two-wheeler market.
