Ather Energy Surpasses 400,000 Total Sales With Rizta Driving Growth

Ather Energy has reached a significant milestone, surpassing 400,000 units in total sales since its inception. In July 2025 alone, the company sold over 16,000 scooters, bringing the cumulative sales to 402,207 units. According to Vahan portal data, Ather delivered 16,231 units last month. This figure is just shy of October 2024's sales by 17 units, which was the company's second-best month.

With registrations still being processed at the end of July, there is potential for this month to surpass last October's figures. The highest monthly sales for Ather were recorded in March 2024 when they sold 17,430 units. This surge coincided with the conclusion of the FAME II subsidy.

Ather's Market Share and Future Prospects

Currently holding a 14 percent share in the two-wheeler electric vehicle market, Ather has shown impressive growth. The company sold 98,004 units from January to July 2025. If this trend continues, Ather could exceed the annual sales target of 150,000 units by year-end. For context, these seven months' sales already represent 77 percent of their total volume in CY24.

The introduction of Ather Rizta has been pivotal in driving sales upward. Launched in April 2024, Rizta now contributes over 60 percent to monthly sales and reached its first 100,000 units within just 13 months. This family-friendly model has found its niche in the expanding electric two-wheeler market.

Upcoming Launches and Competitive Landscape

Ather plans to unveil its new EL platform on August 30. This platform aims to broaden their product range with a more affordable option. Competing brands like Bajaj, TVS, Vida (Hero), and Ola Electric already offer models under the INR 1 lakh mark. The new platform is expected to introduce a variant that rivals these offerings.

The company's market share has steadily increased post-pandemic. From an 8 percent share in CY22, it has grown to 14 percent currently. With a strong festive season anticipated ahead, Ather is poised to potentially cross half-a-million sales by year-end if they maintain their current pace.

The festive season could significantly boost overall sales past the five lakh unit mark by December. If Ather replicates its performance from the first seven months during the remaining five months of this year, reaching this milestone seems achievable.

Ather's consistent growth reflects its strategic product launches and market adaptability. As they continue to expand their offerings and enhance accessibility for buyers through cost-effective models, their position in the EV market strengthens further.
