Ather Energy’s New EL Platform: A Tech-Loaded Family EV Scooter
EV startup Ather Energy is set to introduce a new family-oriented electric scooter based on its upcoming EL platform, with a strong focus on daily practicality and loaded tech. The Bengaluru-based Ev brand is among the top five electric scooter brands in India, alongside TVS, Bajaj, Hero, and Ola Electric.
The new EV scooter will be sold alongside the 450 series and the Rizta. With this new EL modular platform, Ather will also expand its lineup as the platform is developed to support multiple EV segments. The company first showcased the EL01 platform during its Community Day event in 2025.

Ather Energy's upcoming scooter is expected to feature a family-friendly design, broad stance, a wider seat, a large LED DRL, and LED tail lamps. Additionally, it could equip 14/12-inch alloy wheels, a rear-mounted electric motor, and a newly developed swingarm.
One of the biggest highlights of this upcoming family EV scooter could be the 7-inch TFT display. Most of the showcased features are likely to be carried over to the production model, making it the most technologically advanced Ather scooter in the lineup. The battery pack is expected to range between 2 kWh and 5 kWh, with a claimed range of up to 160 km.
Other standard features such as mono-shock suspension, an aluminium chassis, Google Maps integration, WhatsApp notifications on the dashboard, live location sharing, multi-mode traction control, an advanced anti-theft system, dual disc brakes, an emergency stop signal, park assist, auto hold, Alexa integration, and Ather's Magic Twist feature will be carried to the new platform.
Ather Energy currently sells three scooters in the domestic market: the 450X, priced from 1.19 lakh rupees (ex-showroom); the more powerful 450 Apex, priced at 1.89 lakh rupees (ex-showroom); and the Rizta family scooter, which starts at 1.04 lakh rupees (ex-showroom). The upcoming EL-platform scooter is targeted at families. The scooter is expected to be priced more affordably, somewhere between 90,000 rupees and 1 lakh (ex-showroom).
