Ather Energy Rizta Electric Scooter Launched In Nepal

Ather Energy has introduced its family-friendly electric scooter, the Rizta, in Nepal. This marks the company's second product in the region, following the success of the Ather 450 series. The launch signifies Ather's dedication to expanding its presence in the evolving electric vehicle (EV) market. The Rizta is designed for families and urban commuters seeking a spacious and reliable electric ride.

The Rizta offers a generous storage capacity of 56 litres, with 34 litres under the seat and an optional 22-litre front trunk. It also features a wide seat and ample floorboard space for rider comfort. Safety is enhanced with SkidControl, providing peace of mind on challenging roads. Tech enthusiasts will appreciate its 7-inch TFT display, Google Maps navigation, Bluetooth call/music control, and other connected features powered by AtherStack Pro.

Strategic Expansion In Nepal

Ravneet Singh Phokela, Ather's Chief Business Officer, highlighted the strategic importance of this launch. "Nepal was our first international market, and the response so far—especially to the 450 series—has been very promising. With the Rizta, we're entering a new segment aimed at family users who value comfort, safety, and convenience." This expansion reflects Ather's commitment to growing its footprint beyond India.

Since entering Nepal in November 2023, Ather has rapidly expanded its presence through local partner Vaidya Energy Pvt. Ltd. The company has established nine Experience Centres and six Service Centres across Nepal. Additionally, they have installed 22 fast-charging points under their Ather Grid network to enhance charging accessibility for users.

Broader International Ambitions

Ather's international ambitions extend beyond Nepal. After launching there, they entered Sri Lanka in December 2024. In Sri Lanka, Ather operates 19 Experience Centres and nine Service Centres. Back home in India, they have built an extensive network with over 400 Experience Centres and nearly 4,000 charging points nationwide.

The Rizta is now available for test rides and purchase at Nepalese Experience Centres. With this launch, Ather aims to attract a broader audience seeking practical and modern electric mobility solutions.
