Ather EL Scooter To Launch On August 30 - New Fast Chargers
Ather Energy is preparing to introduce its latest innovations at the upcoming Community Day 2025. And now the EV startup firm from Bangalore has confirmed that Ather Community Day 2025 will be held on the 30th of August.
The biggest anitcipated highlight from Ather Community Day '25 is the debut of the Ather EL scooter platform, which will finally see Ather step into the "affordable" electric scooter market.
The EL scooter platform represents Ather's strategic move to capture a broader customer base. The platform is designed for versatility and cost-efficiency, which could enable Ather to introduce products below the Rs 1 lakh mark.
This is a critical step for Ather, as it currently lacks offerings in this price segment, unlike its competitors such as Bajaj, TVS, Ola Electric, Vida (Hero), and Greaves, each of whom already has at least one product under this threshold. The EL platform's introduction is anticipated to strengthen Ather's position in the market by making its products more accessible to a wider audience.
Ather Energy’s focus extends beyond just launching new scooters. The company is poised to introduce its next-generation Ather Grid fast chargers, aiming to revolutionize the charging experience for electric scooter users. The current Ather Grid chargers already offer impressive charging speeds, able to charge Ather e-scooters at 1.5km/min and Vida e-scooters at 1.2km/min.
This development is significant, especially since Vida e-scooters benefit from Ather's open-source charger connector, making the charging process more accessible and efficient. The introduction of these fast chargers is expected to address the convenience factor, a crucial aspect for users transitioning to electric vehicles.
Ather Energy recently celebrated the achievement of selling over one lakh units of its Rizta model, a scooter aimed at families that was launched at Community Day 2024. This milestone underscores the brand's growing popularity and its ability to meet consumer demands in the competitive electric vehicle market.
Another significant announcement set for the event is the introduction of the Ather Stack 7.0 operating software.
