Ather 450 Electric Scooter Range Explained In Detail

The Ather 450 has come a long way since its debut, evolving into a full family of e-scooters catering to different budgets, ranges, and performance needs. Today, there are 5 distinct variants in the line-up, each positioned to meet specific customer demands. Here's a breakdown of all 5 variants of Ather 450 range.

Ather 450S (2.9kWh) - Rs 1.31 lakh

The most affordable option, the 450S 2.9kWh, swaps the 7-inch TFT touchscreen for a simpler LCD display but retains features like Bluetooth connectivity, phone call/music control, and turn-by-turn navigation.

Ather 450 Range

It uses a smaller battery pack, offering a real-world range of 105km in SmartEco and 75km in Sport. The motor makes 5.4kW and 22Nm, with a top speed of 90kph, though Warp mode is absent. Fast charging from the Ather Grid remains identical to the 450X, but home charging takes 5.5 hours (0-80%). Weight is slightly lower at 108kg, and it runs on a slimmer rear tyre.

Ather 450S (3.7kWh) - Rs 1.46 lakh

This variant bridges the gap between entry-level and premium. With the larger 3.7kWh battery, range jumps to 161km IDC (about 130km SmartEco, 90km Sport). Charging improves too: 4.5 hours (0-80%).

Performance figures remain unchanged at 5.4kW and 22Nm, with a 0-40kph time of 3.9s and a top speed of 90kph. It keeps the LCD dash, four ride modes, hill-hold, Fall Safe, and OTA updates.

Ather 450X (2.9kWh) - Rs 1.48 lakh

To counter subsidy cuts, Ather introduced the 450X with a smaller 2.9kWh battery. Unlike the 450S, this scooter packs in the premium 7-inch TFT display, Warp mode, switchable traction control, chunkier tyre, and Magic Twist regenerative braking.

Range is similar to the 450S 2.9kWh (105km SmartEco, 75km Warp), but the standout is charging - the fastest in the line-up, reaching 80% in just 3 hours.

Ather 450X (3.7kWh) - Rs 1.58 lakh

Essentially the long-standing flagship until recently, the 450X 3.7kWh remains for buyers wanting maximum range. It offers 130km in SmartEco and 85km in Warp. Charging is identical to the 450S 3.7kWh - 4.5 hours to 80%.

It retains all the premium kit: TFT dash, Warp mode, Magic Twist, traction control, and wider tyres. For many, it's the sweet spot between performance and range.

Ather 450 Apex - Rs 1.85 lakh

Sitting at the top is the 450 Apex, which Ather calls the pinnacle of the 450 platform. Powered by a 7kW/26Nm motor, it sprints 0-40kph in 2.9s, hits a 100kph top speed, and debuts the exclusive Warp+ mode.

The 3.7kWh battery delivers 157km IDC range (130km SmartEco, 80km Warp+). Unique features include multi-level cruise control, Magic Twist, and traction control.

Visually, it stands out with its Indium Blue paint, transparent rear panels, orange chassis, and the enclosed belt drive system. At Rs 1.85 lakh, it's the priciest but also the most tech-packed scooter Ather has ever built.

DriveSpark Thinks

With prices ranging from Rs 1.31 lakh to Rs 1.85 lakh, the Ather 450 line-up now caters to a wide audience - from urban commuters who prioritize affordability and practicality to enthusiasts seeking high performance and advanced features. By offering multiple battery sizes and feature sets, Ather has made its scooters more accessible without losing the cutting-edge appeal that made the 450 a benchmark in the first place.
