Aprilia Introduces Extended Warranty For RS 457 & Tuono 457 Motorcycles
Aprilia has introduced a new warranty policy for its RS 457 and Tuono 457 motorcycles, addressing engine failure concerns. The standard warranty now extends to four years or 48,000 km, up from the previous three years or 36,000 km. This change aims to reassure customers and maintain their trust in the brand.
The Italian manufacturer clarified that engine failures reported by some RS 457 owners were due to "unauthorised aftermarket modifications and irregular service schedules." This statement was released last month. The updated warranty is expected to boost confidence among potential buyers, especially those considering their first major motorcycle purchase.

Extended Warranty Benefits
The extended warranty is now transferable to subsequent owners of both models, enhancing resale value. This change is reflected on Aprilia's website and confirmed by dealers. The warranty covers repair costs arising from manufacturing or assembly defects, with faulty components being replaced as needed.
Both the RS 457 and Tuono 457 are produced at Aprilia's Baramati facility in Maharashtra for domestic and international markets. Developed at Aprilia's headquarters in Noale, Italy, these bikes represent a global model. The RS 457 has been available for about a year, while the Tuono 457 launched in February this year.
Technical Specifications
The motorcycles are powered by a 457 cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine delivering 47.6bhp and 43.5Nm of torque, coupled with a six-speed gearbox. The RS 457 is priced at Rs 4.20 lakh, while the Tuono 457 costs Rs 3.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
DriveSpark Thinks
The enhanced warranty reflects Aprilia's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. By addressing concerns proactively, the company aims to strengthen its reputation among motorcycle enthusiasts in India and beyond.
