2026 Ducati Monster Revealed With New 890cc V2 Engine
Ducati has unveiled the 2026 Monster, the latest version of its iconic naked motorcycle, now powered by a new 890cc V2 engine that replaces the 937cc Testastretta unit. The update to the Ducati Monster enhances its efficiency, reduces its weight, and refines performance across daily and high-speed riding scenarios.
The 2026 Ducati Monster's 890cc L-twin engine delivers 109.5bhp at 9,000rpm and 91Nm of torque at 7,250rpm. Ducati says over eighty per cent of torque is available from 4,000rpm onwards, offering stronger acceleration response across the midrange and smoother power delivery during gear transitions.

The 2026 Ducati Monster's engine features Intake Variable Timing technology and weighs six kilograms less than its predecessor. It complies with Euro 5+ emission norms and is paired with a six-speed gearbox, a quickshifter, and an updated slipper clutch designed to improve stability during aggressive downshifts.
Built around Ducati's compact front-frame architecture, the Monster uses the engine as a stressed component to reduce overall weight and improve rigidity. The aluminium frame helps achieve a wet weight of 175 kilograms, supporting sharper steering geometry and improved cornering response.

Suspension components include a 43mm Showa upside-down fork at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by dual 320mm Brembo discs with four-piston radial callipers and a 245mm rear disc, complemented by Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres.
Electronic assistance is managed by a six-axis IMU, which controls cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, and engine-brake settings. Riders can select from four modes - Sport, Road, Urban, and Wet - each adjusting throttle response, traction, and braking sensitivity.

The 2026 Monster features a five-inch TFT display with automatic brightness modes. This display shows all riding data, gear position, fuel range, and electronic settings. The layout has been simplified for ease of use and quick navigation through Ducati's updated switchgear interface.
The 2026 Ducati Monster retains its familiar stance but with sharper detailing and reduced bodywork mass. The fuel tank remains muscular, while the tail section has been made shorter and cleaner. LED lighting, including the C-shaped headlamp design, continues across the range.

The ergonomics have been updated as well thanks to a narrower seat and raised handlebars to improve reach and comfort in traffic and longer rides. The standard seat height is 815mm, with an optional lowering kit that drops it to 775mm, broadening accessibility for varied rider profiles.
Three colours will be available for the 2026 Ducati Monster at launch - Ducati Red, Aviator Grey, and Iceberg White. Ducati plans to begin deliveries of the 2026 Monster globally in early 2026, with regional prices to be confirmed closer to launch as production transitions to the new engine platform.
