2025 KTM 390 Adventure: Key Upgrades & Features Explained
The latest iteration of the KTM 390 Adventure boasts numerous changes and upgrades over the previous generation model. Here are some of the areas where the new 2025 KTM Adventure differs from the previous generation model.
Powertrain
The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure not only inherits its engine from the freshly updated 390 Duke but also brings significant enhancements in power and features. With an engine size increased to 399cc, the new model boasts an output of 46hp and 39Nm of torque. This marks a substantial improvement, offering an additional 2.5hp and 2Nm compared to the previous 373cc engine.

Equipment
One of the standout features of the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure is its comprehensive list of equipment, setting a new standard for sub-500cc adventure tourers in India. Among these advancements are the inclusion of adjustable suspension and riding modes, cornering ABS and traction control, and, notably, cruise control—a first for bikes in this category within the country. Furthermore, it sports 21/17-inch tubeless wire-spoke wheels, enhancing both its functionality and aesthetic appeal.
Design
The new 390 Adventure's look is not just about performance; it also sees a substantial shift in design, opting for a more streamlined appearance. This is evident in its slimmer profile and the transition to a stepped single-piece seat, moving away from the split seats of its predecessor. This change contributes to the bike's more purposeful and aggressive stance, highlighting the comprehensive overhaul it has undergone.
Physical Dimensions
In terms of physical dimensions, the 2025 model introduces notable changes. Riders will immediately appreciate the lower seat height of 830mm, which is 25mm less than what was available previously, making it more accessible to a wider range of riders. Despite this lower seating position, the bike does not compromise on ground clearance, offering an impressive 227mm.
This is achieved through new suspension units that provide 200/205mm of travel for the front and rear, respectively—substantially more than the outgoing model. Both the new and old versions share the same 14.5-litre fuel capacity, although the 2025 iteration is slightly heavier, weighing in at 183kg, which is a 6kg increase.
DriveSpark Thinks
The anticipation for the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure's launch in India is building, with its introduction expected in the coming days. Accompanying it will be the 390 Adventure X, a lower-spec, more road-biased variant, broadening the options for adventure enthusiasts. This launch represents an exciting development for the adventure touring segment, offering a blend of enhanced performance, innovative features, and a more engaging design.
