2025 Kawasaki Versys 650 Launched In India: Prices Start At Rs 7.93 Lakh
Kawasaki has recently unveiled the updated version of the Versys 650 for the year 2025, marking a significant evolution in its adventure touring range in India. The new model adheres to the stringent BS6 P2 OBD2B emission standards mandated by the Indian Government, ensuring its compliance from April 1, 2025. This move comes as part of Kawasaki’s broader initiative to refresh its lineup, including the Ninja 500, Eliminator 500, and Ninja 650, aligning with environmental regulations and customer expectations.
The 2025 Kawasaki Versys 650 has seen a moderate adjustment in pricing, now retailing at Rs 7.93 lakh (Ex-showroom), indicating a Rs 16,000 increase over the previous model year. This shift in pricing strategy comes after the MY24 version of the Versys 650 was available with discounts up to Rs 20,000, an option no longer visible as the model has been removed from the official website. However, some dealerships might still hold stock of the unsold MY24 versions.
Updated Features and Design
In terms of aesthetics, the latest iteration of the Versys 650 showcases a fresh Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray colour scheme. This new palette offers a contrast from the previous model year options, which included Metallic Flat Spark Black and Metallic Matte Dark Gray. The updated model features a predominance of gray and black hues, accented with subtle green highlights, adding a distinctive touch to its appearance.
Underneath its familiar design, the 2025 Kawasaki Versys 650 introduces a powertrain that complies with the new BS6 P2 OBD2B emission norms. The motorcycle maintains its 649cc twin-cylinder engine, renowned for its liquid cooling system capable of producing 66 bhp and 61 Nm of torque. This engine pairs seamlessly with a six-speed gearbox, enhanced by a slip and assist clutch, ensuring smooth and efficient power delivery.
Enhanced Riding Experience
The Versys 650 continues to sport its semi-faired design, featuring twin LED headlights and a tall windscreen that significantly contributes to wind protection. When it comes to handling and suspension, the 2025 model surpasses its supersport sibling, the Ninja 650. The adventure tourer is equipped with high-end components like USD telescopic front forks that can be fully adjusted for compression and rebound. The back of the motorcycle features a pre-load adjustable mono-shock setup. Braking is managed by a dual disc setup at the front and a single disc at the rear, with 17-inch wheels providing stability and traction on various terrains.
