Updated BMW G 310 RR Teased Ahead Of Launch- Power, Electronics & Aero Upgrades Expected

German bikemaker BMW Motorrad has teased the updated G 310 RR, hinting at a comprehensive upgrade for its fully-faired entry-level sportbike. The BMW G 310 RR, still built in partnership with TVS, is expected to gain several features recently introduced on the TVS Apache RR 310.

The focus of the upgrade is likely to be on performance. Late in 2024, TVS re-engineered the Apache RR 310's engine with a larger airbox, a lighter forged piston, a bigger throttle body, and a higher compression ratio.

These updates boosted output to around 38hp at 9,800rpm and 29Nm at 7,900rpm, compared to the earlier 34hp and 27.3Nm. Since both motorcycles share the same 312.2cc single-cylinder motor, the G 310 RR is expected to mirror this step-up in performance.

Electronics will also play a major role in the update for the BMW G 310 RR. The Apache RR 310's most recent revision added rider aids like launch control, cornering drag torque control, a bi-directional quickshifter, and even cruise control, all of which are expected to make it into the new G 310 RR.

The G 310 RR is also set o get a few Cosmetic changes as well. TVS added aerodynamic winglets to the Apache's fairing, claiming downforce benefits of up to three kilograms at higher speeds. BMW may incorporate similar design elements, giving the G 310 RR sharper styling to match its updated performance. A transparent clutch cover and new eight-spoke alloy wheels, already seen on the Apache, are also expected to be part of the visual refresh.

Pricing will be another factor to watch closely. The outgoing BMW G 310 RR currently retails at ₹3.05 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the top-spec Apache RR 310 is pegged at around ₹2.95 lakh. Historically, BMW maintains a premium of roughly ₹20,000 over the equivalent TVS version.

That trend is expected to continue, placing the updated G 310 RR around the ₹3.25-3.30 lakh range. With the revised GST structure bringing tax relief to certain categories, the impact of this increase could be softened to an extent.
