Yamaha India's Sales Surge 19.88% In May 2024: MT15 Leads
Yamaha Motor India has reported a significant growth in domestic sales for May 2024, with a total of 64,222 units sold. This marks an impressive year-over-year growth of 19.88%, up from 53,571 units in May 2023.
The MT15 led the sales surge, with its sales more than doubling from 7,156 units in May 2023 to 14,612 units this May, accounting for a commanding 22.75% share of Yamaha's total sales.

Other models' performance
The FZ series experienced a downturn with a 15.13% drop in sales, decreasing from 16,919 units to 14,359 units. However, it still maintained a significant 22.36% share of the total sales.
Yamaha RayZR saw a strong increase of 40.84%, rising from 9,794 units to 13,794 units and securing a 21.48% share. On the other hand, Yamaha R15 faced a decline of 7.49%, going from 11,280 units to 10,435 units and representing a 16.25% share.

Yamaha Fascino recorded modest growth of 10.78%, with sales climbing from 8,422 units to 9,330 units and holding a market share of 14.53%. Yamaha Aerox registered sales of 1,671 units contributing to a total share of 2.60%. The new R3/MT03 motorcycles had minimal presence with just 21 units sold and accounting for a mere 0.03% share.
Month-on-month comparison
Comparing month-on-month sales performance for Yamaha Motor India shows steady growth with a total of 64,222 units sold in May compared to April's figure of 63,098 units – an increase of approximately1.78%. The MT15 continued its strong performance with an increase of around9.38%, while the FZ series also saw positive growth at around4.22%.

New RayZR experienced a slight dip in sales by about1.86%, but it remains a significant contributor with a market share of around22.27%. Sales for the R15 decreased by about6.38%, while Fascino recorded an increase of around5.73%. The Aerox saw a more substantial decrease at around12.15%, and flagship R3/MT03 models experienced the most significant drop at about38.24%.
In conclusion, Yamaha Motor India has demonstrated consistent performance in the market with steady month-on-month growth and impressive year-over-year gains for some models such as the MT15 and RayZR despite declines in other models like the FZ series and R15.
