Upcoming Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Spotted Testing In Chennai – The Naked Himalayan?
Royal Enfield is trying their best to expand their product portfolio and increase their customer base. As part of this strategy, Royal Enfield has been developing a naked version of the new Himalayan motorcycle in India.
Now, this upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan-based naked motorcycle, likely to be named Guerrilla 450, has been spotted testing in Chennai. We expect this new motorcycle from Royal Enfield to be launched around the festive season to make maximum use of the sales push.

Speaking about the upcoming 'Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450', the model is likely to use the same chassis and powertrain as the Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle. However, the suspension setup on the Guerrilla 450 is likely to differ as the model favours a more road-biased setup.
Analysing the images of the spied motorcycle, this is likely to be true as the test mule not only features a shorter conventional front suspension, but the model also features alloy wheels and smaller 17-inch road-biased tyres.
Thanks to these changes, the ground clearance of the upcoming Guerrilla 450 seems to be lower than the Himalayan, which it is based on. That being said, the rear suspension on both these motorcycles seems to be similar.
Since the upcoming Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 will be based on the Himalayan, the model will feature the same single-cylinder Sherpa 450 engine. This engine in the Himalayan is tuned to produce 39.5bhp at 8,000rpm and 40Nm of torque at 5,500rpm.
Furthermore, this engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission with slip-and-assist clutch. We also expect the upcoming Guerrilla 450 to come with the same electronics suite as the Royal Enfield Himalayan. Also, the instrument display also seems to be a straight lift off the Himalayan.
DriveSpark Thinks
Thanks to its road-biased set-up and slightly less sophisticated hardware, we expect the upcoming Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 to be positioned below the Himalayan. Also, this motorcycle is expected to do well in the Indian market and directly compete against the Triumph Scrambler 400X.
