Upcoming Honda Activa Electric Scooter To Feature Removable Battery Pack
The Honda Activa Electric is generating buzz with its upcoming launch on 27 November. Recent teasers have unveiled intriguing features, including removable batteries. These batteries can be easily swapped out at designated stations or charged at home or work, offering significant convenience for users. This aligns with Honda's strategy of incorporating removable batteries in its electric scooters globally.
Instrument Cluster and Variants
The latest teaser also highlights the scooter's instrument cluster, revealing two types: a TFT and an LCD. This indicates that the Activa Electric will come in two variants. The higher-end model will feature a crisp TFT display with a neat layout, while the base model will have a simple colour LCD showing speed, battery level, and trip meter.
Ride Modes & Range
In terms of performance, the Activa Electric boasts two ride modes: Standard and Sport. In Standard mode, the battery range is expected to be around 104km when fully charged. However, this range might decrease to approximately 80km to 85km in Sport mode. Such figures are competitive within the electric scooter market.
Additional Features
The top-spec variant of the Activa Electric will offer additional features like on-board navigation and music controls. These enhancements aim to provide a more enriched riding experience for users who opt for the premium version of the scooter.
The introduction of removable batteries is not new for Honda, as they have been used in other international models. The teaser video shows these batteries being removed from a charging dock at a swappable battery station and then inserted into the scooter where another battery is already placed.
