Ultraviolette F99 Smashes Quarter Mile Record For Indian Motorcycles - Check The Time Here

Bangalore-based EV firm Ultraviolette Automotive has smashed the quarter-mile record for an Indian motorcycle at Valley Run 2025 in Amby Valley. The Ultraviolette F99 blitzed the quarter mile on the 1st of December with a timed run of 10.712 (certified by the FMSCI).

The Ultraviolette F99 is a race-spec electric motorcycle that the firm claims features a new-generation electric powertrain, chassis and battery pack wholly researched in India and sports several industry-leading technologies - such as a full Carbon Fibre exoskeleton, Carbon-Fibre Battery Pack, 400V Battery Architecture and a liquid-cooled drivetrain.

The F99 came to the Valley Run to break the quarter-mile record which it did win quite some style at Amby Valley. The firm's next target was the top speed record for an Indian motorcycle and while Ultraviolette has not revealed that figure yet, a source did tell us that the F99 hit a top speed of 235km/h at Amby Valley.

The F99 is being used as a test bed by Ultraviolette with tech developed on this race bike like regen braking and fast charging being carried over to the road-legal F77 Mach 2 which currently retails Rs 2.99 lakh for the base model and Rs 3.99 lakh for the Recon variant.

The F99 though is quite a ways ahead of the road-spec F77 when it comes to its powertrain. Ultraviolette states that the F99's motor outputs 120.69bhp(90kW) and an astonishing 972Nm of peak wheel torque. The F99 thanks to its full carbon fibre exoskeleton and battery pack weighs just 180 kilogrammes giving it a power-to-weight ratio of 670.5bhp/tonne.

Speaking about the record-breaking quarter-mile run by the F99, Narayan Subramaniam, Co-founder and CEO of Ultraviolette, said, "This is a huge moment of pride for India and Ultraviolette. Historically, we have always looked to the East or the West for the best performance vehicles. At Ultraviolette we are on a mission to change that narrative with the talent and knowledge within India. The record breaking run with the F99 - which has made it 'The Fastest Indian' motorcycle, is undisputed validation of the engineering and design prowess in India".

Niraj Rajmohan, Co-founder and CTO of Ultraviolette, added, "This record attempt is our answer to the ceiling the industry seems to have imposed on itself. Building technology for a peak-performance motorcycle like the F99 is a formidable challenge-it demands precision, innovation, and an unrelenting pursuit of perfection across aerodynamics, structural engineering, battery technology and vehicle electronics. We have been working tirelessly on the F99 Project for the past few months and we hope this sparks further waves of innovation across tech start-ups in India".
