TVS Motor's Export Figures Soar 26.71%, Star City 125 Leads
TVS Motor Company has seen its export figures soar by 26.71%, reaching 81,846 units compared to 64,591 units in the same period last year.
Leading the charge in this impressive growth is the Star City 125, a model renowned for its fuel efficiency of 67kmpl, which now accounts for a substantial 42.64% of TVS's total exports.
The Star City 125 emerged as the top export model with 34,897 units sold in March 2024 alone, marking a notable increase of 28.60% from the 27,136 units exported in March 2023.
This growth underscores the global appeal of this affordable bike, which has outperformed other models in TVS's lineup, including the Apache, Raider, and mopeds.
Other models from TVS also showed promising export growth. The Apache model, for instance, saw its exports jump by 126.53% year-on-year, from 5,036 units to 11,408 units.
The Raider model reported the highest growth rate at 161.36%, with exports increasing from 3,346 units in March 2023 to 7,745 units in March 2024. Meanwhile, the TVS Sport registered a 45.91% growth, with 5,625 units exported.
However, not all models enjoyed positive growth. The Jupiter experienced a decline of 35.21%, with exports falling to 5,917 units. Similarly, the Ntorq and XL models saw significant drops in their export numbers on a year-on-year basis, while the relatively new Ronin model had 416 units exported last month.
On a brighter note, the Apache 310 and the electric scooter iQube showed promising growth, with the latter starting from zero exports in March 2023 to 40 units last month.
