TVS Motosoul 2024: RTXD4 Engine Unveiled - Will Power Upcoming ADV
Chennai-based motorcycle manufacturer TVS has revealed its second liquid-cooled engine, the RTXD4 at the TVS Motosoul gathering in Goa. The TVS RTXD4 will make its debut on the firm's upcoming adventure motorcycle, which is expected to debut in 2025.
The TVS RTXD4 engine is a liquid-cooled, dual-overhead camshaft engine that has a 78mm stroke and 62.6mm bore. The 299.1cc engine features four valves and it kicks out 34.52bhp at 9,000rpm and 28.5Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm.
The all-new RTXD4 engine from TVS, like the 310cc engine (the firm's first liquid-cooled powerplant) used in the RR 310 and RTR 310 motorcycles produced in partnership with BMW Motorrad, will come paired with a 6-speed gearbox and will also feature ride-by-wire technology. TVS also states that the new RTXD4 engine features a patented deflector plus duct system that should help keep the new powerplant's thermals in check.
The first-ever motorcycle to be powered by the all-new RTXD4 engine will be the adventure motorcycle that TVS has been developing for a while now. The TVS Adventure motorcycle is expected to bear the RTX nameplate that is seen on the new engine and is expected to arrive in/by the second half of 2025.
The TVS RTX adventure motorcycle is expected to feature spoked wheels with tubed tyres along with a USD front fork and a rear monoshock. The suspension setup is expected to offer quite a bit of adjustment and is expected to be similar to the units found on the top-spec RR 310 and RTR 310.
The ride-by-wire system for the RTXD4 engine means that the upcoming adventure motorcycle from TVS will offer different riding modes. The new TVS RTX ADV is also expected to offer features like a fully digital instrument console with support for the SmartXonnect app that allows access to a whole host of new features.
