TVS E-OMC: An Electric Racing Series With The Apache RTE
TVS Motor Company (TVSM), a prominent global automaker in the two and three-wheeler segments, has launched its electric two-wheeler racing championship season. This marks TVSM as the first Indian manufacturer to venture into electric motor racing. The 2024 TVS Racing Electric One Make Championship (e-OMC) follows two support rounds during last year's TVS OMC.
The TVS Apache RTE (Racing Throttle Electric) motorcycle has achieved a top speed of 200 kph, showcasing its performance capabilities. This is supported by various innovative technologies. The championship will feature eight pre-selected riders, representing a significant step forward in the future of racing.
The TVS Apache RTE race motorcycles are exclusively developed for the championship. Key technologies include a liquid-cooled motor and high-efficiency liquid-cooled motor controller, giving it the highest power-to-weight ratio in its class. The battery pack features high-power cells with advanced chemistry, housed in a carbon fibre case that also acts as a stressed member of the chassis.
Additionally, the bike boasts a custom-built advanced Battery Management System with race-specific algorithms for advanced configuration controls and high safety levels. The motor spindle connects to the rear wheel through sprockets and a roller chain, while Ohlins bespoke front and rear suspension ensure superior handling.
Racing Components
The braking system includes Brembo components with a 320mm front disc, calipers, and master cylinder. Carbon fibre front and rear wheels, along with Pirelli Super Corsa tyres, enhance performance. The carbon fibre fairing provides the lowest coefficient of drag in its class. Unique livery combines TVS Racing Factory colours with sustainability-inspired graphics.

Championship Highlights
The TVS Electric OMC is part of the TVS One Make Championship (OMC) in India, held alongside the prestigious Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC). This season features eight handpicked riders racing for four laps each, achieving an impressive top speed of 200 kph.
The best lap timing recorded during Round 1 was 1 minute 48.777 seconds. Sarthak Chavan secured first place in this round, followed by Chirant V and Alwin Sundar at Round 1 of INMRC 2024.
