Triumph Thruxton 400 To Launch In India In 2025: Placed Between The Speed And Scrambler 400

The much-anticipated Triumph Thruxton 400, a stylish cafe-racer, is gearing up to enter the Indian motorcycle market, although its launch has been pushed to 2025 instead of the originally planned festive season debut. Priced around Rs 2.5 lakh, the Thruxton 400 will slot neatly between the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400X.This new model will sport a striking semi-fairing inspired by the Speed Triple RR, boosting its on-road presence. It will also incorporate several design features from the Speed 400, such as a teardrop fuel tank and triangular side panels. The exposed subframe further enhances its visual appeal, ensuring it captures attention in the cafe-racer category.

Engine and Performance

Under the hood, the Thruxton 400 will house a 399cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. This engine produces 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The suspension setup includes an upside-down fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear, ensuring a smooth ride.

Triumph plans to adjust the riding position of the Thruxton 400 to align with its cafe-racer style. The handlebars might be slightly lowered for a sportier feel. The bike will likely retain the sleek single-piece seat from the Speed 400, along with its 17-inch wheels.

Pricing and Market Position

In terms of pricing, the Thruxton 400 is anticipated to sit between Triumph's existing models in India. With the Speed 400 priced at Rs 2.35 lakh and Scrambler 400X at Rs 2.65 lakh (ex-showroom), Delhi, this new model could be priced around Rs 2.50 lakh.

The Thruxton 400 will become Triumph's fourth budget-friendly offering in India after models like Speed T4 launched earlier this year at Rs 2.17 lakh (ex-showroom). It aims to compete with rivals such as Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 in India's domestic market.

Triumph's decision to introduce semi-fairing on this model addresses previous concerns about road presence in their smaller bikes. The brand aims to maintain high-quality fit and finish similar to that seen on other models like Speed 400 and Scrambler X.

Overall, Triumph's expansion into budget-friendly motorcycles continues with this new addition aimed at capturing more of India's growing two-wheeler market while maintaining their reputation for quality engineering and design excellence across all offerings within their portfolio globally.
