New Triumph 400cc Motorcycle Launch Today: Everything We Know So Far
Triumph is gearing up to unveil a new motorcycle today in India. While the exact model remains uncertain, it is likely based on 400cc platform co-developed with Bajaj Auto. This platform currently supports the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X models.
The teaser image from Triumph shows a dual-tone fuel tank with the brand's signature triangular logo and a white stripe. The bike also appears to have a flat single-piece seat and visible engine casing with cooling fins.

Expected Features of the New Triumph 400cc Bike
The upcoming 400cc bike is anticipated to include a semi-digital instrument console, USB charging port, ride-by-wire throttle, switchable traction control system, and LED lights. It will likely share mechanical features with its siblings, such as a tubular steel frame, upside-down front forks, and monoshock rear suspension. Braking will be managed by disc brakes at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS.
During the launch of the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X, Triumph mentioned plans to expand its 400cc lineup. An adventure tourer seems like a fitting addition, potentially carrying the 'Tiger' or 'Tiger Sport' nameplate. The Tiger name is used for ADV bikes, while Tiger Sport is for road-based tourers.

Specifications of the New Triumph 400cc Bike
The new bike is expected to feature 17-inch alloy wheels like the Speed 400. It will be powered by a 398.15cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, delivering 39.5bhp at 8,000rpm and peak torque of 37.5Nm at 6,500rpm. A 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch will ensure smooth power transmission. Multiple ride modes are also expected.
At this stage, predicting the exact nature of the bike is challenging. However, Triumph aims to retain neo-retro styling elements to capitalise on the festive season and previous successes in this platform.
