Kawasaki recently launched the new Ninja 500 motorcycle in India. This new motorcycle will be sold alongside the Ninja 400. However, there is a possibility of Ninja 500 completely replacing the Ninja 400.
Furthermore, the 350+cc motorcycle segment is growing fast in India and new launches such as the Ninja 500 make it even more exciting. That being said, here are the top 5 things you need to know about the new Kawasaki Ninja 500.

Price & Variants
The newly launched Kawasaki Ninja 500 motorcycle is priced at Rs 5.24 lakh (ex-showroom), which apparently is the same as the Ninja 400 MY24. That being said, the new Ninja 500 is available in just one variant and with one colour option - Metallic Spark Black.
Design
In terms of the design, the newly launched Kawasaki Ninja 500 looks more like an evolution of the Ninja 400. However, the the Ninja 500 features a bit more cuts, creases and vents to make it look a bit more sportier than the Ninja 400.

Powertrain
The new Kawasaki Ninja 500 is powered by a new 451cc, parallel-twin engine, liquid-cooled engine. This engine puts out 45bhp at 9,000rpm and 42.6Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. This power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed transmission with Slip & Assist clutch.
Hardware
The Kawasaki Ninja 500 sports a Trellis frame with 41mm telescopic suspension at the front and a bottom-link mono suspension at the rear. Braking duties are carried out using a semi-floating 310mm disc at the front and a 220mm single disc at the rear.

Dimensions
Weighing in at just 171kg, the Ninja 500 is 1kg less than the already lightweight KTM RC390. Furthermore, the model measures 1,995 mm long, 730mm wide, and 1,120mm tall, with a wheelbase of 1,375mm. Additionally, the low 785mm seat height makes the motorcycle very accessible.
Despite weighing slightly more than the Ninja 400 at 171kg, the Ninja 500 maintains a competitive edge with its weight being less than that of the Aprilia RS 457 and the KTM RC 390.

The motorcycle also comes equipped with dual-channel ABS and the seat height stands at a comfortable 785mm, making it accessible for shorter riders (an optional tall seat available as an accessory).
Thoughts About The Kawasaki Ninja 500
The newly launched Kawasaki Ninja 500 is a great motorcycle with a punch parallel-twin engine. However, at Rs 5.24 lakh (ex-showroom), the Ninja 500 is out of reach for a large section of buyers in India.
