The electric scooter segment started to gain good momentum in the year 2024, and here are is our list of the top 5 electric scooters launched in 2024.
Ather Rizta
The Ather Rizta was unveiled in April at a starting price of Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom), it's designed as a family scooter. Available in 2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh battery options, it offers a range of 123 km and 160 km on a single charge, respectively.

The Rizta stands out for its spacious luggage capacity totaling 56 litres, combining underseat and front glove compartment storage. With a top speed of 80 kmph and two ride modes, Zip and SmartEco, it caters to the daily commuting needs of the average Indian family.
TVS iQube ST
Another notable launch is the TVS iQube ST 5.1, a more powerful variant of the iQube series, which hit the market in May. Priced at Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom), it features a 5.1 kWh battery pack promising a range of 150 km on a single charge.

The iQube ST 5.1 is not just about range; it also offers a top speed of 82 kmph and comes equipped with a 7-inch full colour TFT touchscreen, along with more than 118 connected features, including voice assist via Alexa.
Hero Vida V2
Hero MotoCorp stepped into the electric scooter segment with its Hero Vida V2, launched at a price point starting from Rs 96,000 (ex-showroom). Available in Lite, Plus, and Pro variants, the scooter offers varied battery capacities ranging from 2.2 kWh to 3.94 kWh.

The highlight is its home-charging capability, which can recharge the battery up to 80% in just 6 hours. The V2 Pro variant boasts a quick acceleration from 0-40 kmph in 2.9 seconds, with a top speed of 90 kmph, making it an enticing option for speed enthusiasts.
Bajaj Chetak (35 Series)
Bajaj Auto also introduced its new-gen Chetak, dubbed the 35 Series, with two variants priced between Rs 1.20 lakh and Rs 1.27 lakh (ex-showroom). The Chetak 35 Series is powered by a 3.5 kWh battery, offering an IDC range of 153km, which is about 125km in real-world conditions. With a top speed of 73 kmph, it combines traditional design with modern electric powertrain technology.

Honda Activa e
Last on the list, but certainly not the least, is the Honda Activa e:, Honda's electric iteration of its iconic Activa model, launched in November. With bookings set to open on 1 January 2025 and deliveries slated for February, the Activa e: features two swappable batteries of 1.5 kWh each, delivering a combined range of 102 km on a single charge.

Honda is also planning to introduce a battery sharing service named Honda e:Swap, further enhancing the convenience for its users.
