India's Top 10 Motorcycles: May 2024 Market Trends
In May 2024, the top 10 motorcycles in India experienced a 1.59% YoY growth, with total sales reaching 8,45,580 units compared to 8,32,305 units in May 2023.
Hero Splendor retained its top position despite an 11.05% decline in sales, selling 3,04,663 units. Honda Shine emerged as a significant growth story with a 43.74% increase in sales to 1,49,054 units.
Bajaj Pulsar maintained its third-place ranking with a marginal increase of 0.06% to 1,28,480 units sold. Hero HF Deluxe experienced a notable decline of 20.13%, with sales dropping to 87,143 units. TVS Apache and Bajaj Platina also faced declines in sales by 9.65% and 28.27%, respectively.
Notable Performers and New Entrants
TVS Raider enjoyed an 8.16% increase in sales to reach 37,249 units, while Honda Unicorn made an impressive entry into the top 10 list with 24,740 units sold.
The Royal Enfield (RE) Classic 350 saw a decline of 9.76%, with sales falling to 23,779 units. Hero Passion recorded a remarkable growth of 507.04%, selling 22,327 units compared to just 3,678 units in May 2023.
Month-on-Month Comparison
Total sales for the top ten motorcycles decreased by 8.82% from April's figures to reach 8,45,580 units in May. Hero Splendor saw a decrease of 5.08%, while Honda Shine experienced a growth of 4.42%. Bajaj Pulsar and Hero HF Deluxe faced significant declines of 11.28% and 10.21%, respectively.
TVS Apache recorded a sharp decline of 16.73%, while TVS Raider saw the largest month-on-month decline of all at 27.10%. Bajaj Platina experienced a significant drop of sales by31.36%.
Honda Unicorn's sales slightly decreased by4 .44%, while the Royal Enfield (RE) Classic350 faced a drop of19 .33%. Lastly ,Hero Passion recorded a decrease of13 .30%.
In conclusion ,the motorcycle market in India witnessed some significant shifts among the top players during May2024 .
While some models like Honda Shine and Hero Passion showed impressive growth ,others like Hero Splendor and Bajaj Pulsar experienced declines.
