The Centennial Bookings Commence In India: A 100 Unit Limited Edition Karizma XMR
Hero MotoCorp has started accepting bookings for The Centennial, a collector's edition based on the Karizma motorcycle which in turn is designed as a tribute to the company's founder, Dr Brijmohan Lal Munjal. According to a social media post, only 100 units of this exclusive model will be produced and auctioned on the official website.
The Centennial: A Limited Edition Karizma?
The Centennial is based on the Hero Karizma XMR but features numerous high-end components and cycle parts. The semi-fairing, inspired by the original Karizma, is a key aspect of this bike. Much of it is constructed from carbon fibre, and it comes with an Akrapovic exhaust.

Although no engine details have been released yet, it is expected to have a 210cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing 25bhp and 20Nm of performance, similar to the standard Karizma XMR. However, due to weight savings from using carbon fibre, the limited edition may perform better.
Other than that, The Centennial comes with a fully adjustable suspension, a light weight milled swingarm. All these changes make the bike 5.5kg lighter than the standard Karizma XMR.
Pricing and Auction Details
As mentioned, The Centennial will be auctioned to honour Dr Brijmohan Lall Munjal's 101st birth anniversary. Also, Hero Motocorp is said to auction these bikes to its employees, associates, business partners, and stakeholders.
That being said, there is no information on how this model will be priced. It is anticipated to have a base price, with final prices determined by how the auction proceeds. Furthermore, the proceeds from the contributions will be utilised for the society's greater good, reflecting the Founder's enduring value of giving back to the community.
DriveSpark Thinks
With high-end components and potential performance improvements due to weight savings from carbon fibre use, this limited edition bike promises to be an attractive offering for enthusiasts and collectors alike.
It is also worth mentioning that Hero Motocorp could have put a lot more engineering, effort, and soul into The Centennial, making it an iconic motorcycle in the process.
