Suzuki Launches V-Strom 800DE Motorcycle Accessories In India
Suzuki has unveiled a range of accessories for its V-Strom 800DE motorcycle in India, catering to enthusiasts seeking to enhance their ride. The lineup includes 15 official accessories, with prices starting at Rs. 3,831 and going up to Rs. 1.38 lakh. These accessories, despite their high price, promise durability and compatibility specifically with the V-Strom 800DE, albeit being imported.
The highlight of the accessory range is the 37-litre aluminium side cases, commanding a price of Rs. 1.38 lakh for the pair. Suzuki aims to ensure these accessories support the motorcycle throughout its lifecycle, reflecting a balance between cost and longevity.

The V-Strom 800DE itself is positioned as a competitive offering in the adventure motorcycle segment, featuring a 776cc parallel-twin engine. This engine is capable of delivering 84bhp and a peak torque of 78Nm, making it a strong contender against rivals like the Honda Transalp 750, Triumph Tiger 850 Sport, and BMW F850GS.
Adding to its appeal, the V-Strom 800DE boasts a bi-directional quickshifter paired with a six-speed gearbox, enhancing the riding experience. The engine's design includes a 270-degree crankshaft for improved torque distribution and a pleasing sound. Moreover, the Cross Balancer System and a clutch assist system work together to minimize engine vibration and facilitate smoother gear shifts.
On the performance front, the motorcycle is equipped with fully adjustable Showa suspension offering 220mm of travel, ensuring robust off-road capabilities.
The steel frame of the V-Strom 800DE, complemented by a detachable rear sub-frame, wire-spoke wheels, and a 5-inch color TFT LCD screen, rounds out its impressive features. Its safety and control systems include three ride modes, a Suzuki Traction Control System, and a dual-mode ABS.
DriveSpark Thinks
Priced at Rs. 10.30 lakh (ex-showroom), the V-Strom 800DE is competitively positioned against the likes of the BMW F850GS and the Tiger 900 Rally, which are priced higher. However, the absence of tubeless tires on the V-Strom 800DE might be seen as a drawback by some enthusiasts.

In summary, Suzuki's launch of the V-Strom 800DE along with its range of accessories presents a compelling option for adventure motorcycle enthusiasts in India. Despite its high-end accessory pricing, the motorcycle itself offers a competitive package in terms of performance, features, and pricing in comparison to its rivals.
