Suzuki V Strom 800 DE India Launch On March 29 – All Details Here Including Specs
Suzuki Motorcycle India is gearing up for an exciting launch, as it confirmed the arrival of the V-Strom 800 DE on March 29, 2024. This news comes shortly after the motorcycle was showcased at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo.
This model will be taking the place of the V-Strom 650 XT, marking a significant update in Suzuki's adventure segment in India. The V-Strom 800 DE has already made its mark in international markets, stirring anticipation among Indian riders.
Built on a new platform derived from the GSX-8S, the V-Strom 800 DE is powered by a 776cc parallel-twin engine. This liquid-cooled engine, equipped with a 270-degree crank, delivers 83bhp at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 78Nm at 6,800 rpm.
Apart from this, the upcoming Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE motorcycle features a 6-speed gearbox. Furthermore, the model comes equipped with a bi-directional quick-shifter as standard, enhancing the overall riding experience.
In terms of hardware, the motorcycle boasts fully adjustable Showa USD with 220mm of travel and twin 310mm discs upfront, coupled with a 260 mm disc at the rear. It rides on a 21-inch spoked front wheel and a 17-inch rear spoked wheel.
The V-Strom 800 DE is not just about power but also about intelligent riding support. It comes with the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS), offering three ride modes for varied riding experiences.
The Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS) and ABS, with selectable modes, add layers of safety and control for the rider. Despite its 230kg weight, its features aim to provide a comfortable and controlled ride over different terrains.
Expected to arrive in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), the V-Strom 800 DE is likely to be priced between Rs 13 lakh to Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom). This positions it as a strong contender against rivals like the Triumph Tiger 900 and BMW F 850 GS.
