Royal Enfield Registers 10.26% Sales Decline In May 2024 Amidst New Model Anticipation
The Royal Enfield motorcycles have been well-received by Indian customers. However, in May 2024, the company experienced a significant decline in sales. According to the latest sales report, Royal Enfield sold only 63,531 bikes in May 2024, compared to 70,795 units in May 2023. This marks a 10.26 per cent decrease.
Despite the drop in sales, Royal Enfield managed to secure the sixth position among the top two-wheeler companies in India for May 2024. The top five positions were held by Hero MotoCorp, Honda, TVS, Bajaj, and Suzuki. Royal Enfield follows these companies in terms of sales volume.
Currently, Royal Enfield offers a range of models including the Classic 350, Bullet 350, Hunter 350, Meteor 350, Super Meteor 650, Shotgun 650, Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, Himalayan, and Scram 411. The company is also preparing to launch the Guerrilla 450 bike soon.
The Guerrilla 450 is expected to hit the Indian market before September 2024. The bike is currently undergoing test runs on Indian roads, and spy pictures have been released. This model is anticipated to feature a 452 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder DOHC engine.
This engine may produce a maximum power of 40 PS at 8,000 rpm and a torque of 40 Nm at 5,500 rpm. Reports suggest that the bike will come with a six-speed gearbox. The Guerrilla 450 has generated considerable interest among Indian customers.
Following the launch of the Guerrilla 450, Royal Enfield plans to introduce several other models in the Indian market. This strategy aims to boost sales growth in the upcoming periods.
