The newly launched Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is available in 3 variants and prices for the model starts at Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes all the way up to Rs 2.54 lakh (ex-showroom).

On the other hand, the Triumph Scrambler 400 X is available in only one variant, but customers can choose between 3 dual-tone shades. This model is priced at Rs 2.54 lakh (ex-showroom), which is similar to the top-spec Guerrilla 450.

Powertrain

The new Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is powered by a 450cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with 39.5bhp at 8,000rpm and 40Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. The model also comes with a 6-speed manual transmission with slip-and-assist clutch.

In comparison, the Triumph Scrambler 400 X features a 398.15cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, DOHC, oversquare engine. This engine is tuned to produce 39.5bhp at 8,000rpm and 37.5Nm of torque at 6,500rpm.

Suspension

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 uses a twin-downtube tubular frame. Suspension duties are taken care of by conventional 43mm telescopic forks at the front with 140mm of wheel travel, and a pre-load adjustable monoshock at the rear with 150mm of wheel travel.

The Triumph Scrambler 400 X on the other hand comes equipped with 43mm USD Big Piston forks at the front and a gas-charged monoshock with an external reservoir at the rear. Both front and rear suspension offer a wheel travel of 150mm.

Braking

In terms of braking, the new Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 uses a large 310mm disc brake at the front and a smaller 270mm disc at the rear. On the other hand, the Scrambler 400 X sports a bigger 320mm disc at the front and a smaller 230mm disc at the rear. Also, both bikes feature dual-channel ABS.

Kerb Weight & Tyres

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 weighs 185kg and features 120/70 R17 tyres at the front and 160/60 R17 tyres at the rear. Surprisingly, the Triumph Scrambler 400 X also weighs the same at 185kg, but sports off-road friendly 100/90 R19 tyres at the front and 140/80 R17 tyres at the rear.
