Royal Enfield Bear 650 Motorcycle: Key Features & Other Highlights

Royal Enfield has unveiled its latest model, the Bear 650. This new addition is anticipated to hit the market soon. The company has been concentrating on its 650cc motorcycles, particularly for international markets. The Bear 650, part of this strategy, is derived from the Interceptor 650 model.

The Interceptor 650 is already available for purchase. While the Bear 650 shares its foundation with the Interceptor 650, there are notable differences between the two models. This article will explore these distinctions in detail.

Introducing the Royal Enfield Bear 650 Motorcycle

Design

The Bear 650's design largely mirrors that of the Interceptor 650. It features a round LED headlight and a peanut-shaped fuel tank. Like its predecessor, it also includes a single-piece seat. However, unlike the dual exhaust system of the Interceptor 650, the Bear 650 has a single exhaust pipe, giving it a scrambler appearance. Additionally, Royal Enfield offers more vibrant colour options for the Bear 650 compared to the Interceptor 650.

Features

The Bear 650 comes equipped with LED headlights, switchable ABS, LED turn indicators, and TFT smartphone connectivity. In contrast, the Interceptor 650 features a dual-pod analog setup with an LCD screen and dual-channel ABS that is not switchable.

Engine Performance

Both motorcycles are powered by a 650cc parallel-twin engine. This engine delivers up to 47bhp and 52Nm of torque. However, the Bear 650's engine is tuned to produce an extra 5Nm of torque.

Mechanical Components

The Bear 650 is fitted with USD forks at the front and conventional dual shocks at the rear. In comparison, the Interceptor 650 uses conventional forks at the front and gas-charged coils at the rear. The Bear 650 also features spoked wheels with MRF Nylogrip tires, typical for a scrambler motorcycle.

Pricing Expectations

The current ex-showroom price for the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is Rs 3.21 Lakh. It is anticipated that the Bear 650 will be priced higher due to its premium features, advanced mechanical components, and enhanced engine performance.

Royal Enfield's focus on expanding its range of 650cc motorcycles is evident with the introduction of the Bear 650. This model is expected to gain popularity overseas, similar to how well-received the Interceptor 650 has been internationally.
