Spy Pics: Royal Enfield 750cc Cafe Racer Spotted For The First Time
Royal Enfield is testing a 750cc twin-cylinder engine and one of the first bikes to feature the new powerplant has been spotted testing near Chennai. The motorcycle that was spotted using the brand-new engine looks to be a cafe racer which could end up replacing the Continental GT 650 when it does arrive in a few years time.
The test mule for the Royal Enfield cafe racer with the upcoming 750cc engine features quite a few details that are typical of this style of motorcycle as well as one major upgrade that may well be needed with the upgraded powerplant.

The typical cafe racer styling cues include the front fairing that stretches outwards toward the fuel tank, which looks different from the one on the current bike. There is also a round panel underneath the seat that looks similar to the one on the newly launched Interceptor Bear 650.

The long seat with the scooped-out section for the rider along with the clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs give the 750cc cafe racer a rather sporty look. However, the big change seen on this test mule comes in the form of the twin disc brakes on the front wheel of the bike, which is a first for a motorcycle from the stables of Royal Enfield.
This brake upgrade seems more of a necessity than anything else as the new engine is expected to produce 5-7bhp more than the current 650cc twin. We expect a good increase in the torque output as well. The current engine pushes out 47bhp and 52Nm of peak torque.
The test bike also features the same suspension setup as the current Continental GT 650 like the conventional front forks and the twin rear shocks. It also features alloy wheels, which could be 18-inch units. The bike also sports a set of peashooter exhausts.
The new 750cc lineup of motorcycles from Royal Enfield is expected to arrive in India in the coming year with this cafe racer Continental GT 750 expected to arrive by 2026.
