Revolt RV1 Launched In India At Rs. 84,990 | Electric Commuter Motorcycle With 250KG Payload
Revolt Motors, a leading electric motorcycle manufacturer in India, is set to make waves in the commuter segment with its latest offering, the Revolt RV1. Motorcycles dominate the Indian two-wheeler market, accounting for 70% of sales. In this vast market, the commuter segment holds the largest share, with over 80 lakh motorcycles sold annually out of a total of approximately 1.25 crore.
The RV1 and its premium version, the RV1+, are available in four vibrant colours. The introductory prices are ₹84,990 for the RV1 and ₹99,990 for the RV1+. These models aim to make electric motorcycling accessible to more people by offering ownership costs that are up to three times lower than petrol motorcycles in the same category. This launch further enhances Revolt Motors' premium electric lineup, which includes popular models like the RV400 and RV400 BRZ.
Innovative Features and Design
The RV1 sets a new standard in the electric motorcycle industry with an impressive payload capacity of 250 kg—much higher than the typical 150 kg seen in other commuter motorcycles. It features wider tyres for better grip and stability, making it suitable for both city commutes and longer journeys. A mid-motor paired with a premium chain drive system ensures smooth acceleration and riding performance.
Safety is enhanced with dual disc brakes, providing superior stopping power not commonly found in other commuter motorcycles. The bike also offers multiple speed modes for versatile riding experiences and introduces a reverse mode—a first in its category—making parking in tight spaces easier.
Advanced Technology and Comfort
A sleek 6-inch digital LCD display provides real-time ride data and error codes, ensuring riders stay connected and informed. Stylish LED headlights and taillights not only enhance aesthetics but also improve visibility on the road. Both variants come with built-in charger storage, and fast-charging technology allows the RV1+ to be fully charged in just 1.5 hours.
The RV1 offers two battery options: a 2.2 kWh battery providing up to 100 km range, and a 3.24 kWh battery extending the range to 160 km—ideal for longer rides. Both batteries are IP67-rated for water resistance, ensuring reliable performance even in challenging weather conditions.
Comfortable Riding Experience
Comfort is a standout feature of the RV1, boasting the longest seat in its category and a frame designed to accommodate multiple passengers—perfect for families or daily commuters. An advanced suspension system ensures a smooth ride even on rough terrains, making it an ideal blend of practicality and performance for modern riders.
Revolt Motors has also upgraded its flagship model, the RV400, enhancing features to improve performance, convenience, and safety. The new fast charger fully charges the bike in just 90 minutes while adding reverse mode simplifies parking in tight spaces. The improved digital display, comfortable seat height, and Bluetooth connectivity for music enhance the riding experience further.
Sustainability Commitment
The RV400 now boasts an extended range of 160 km and comes in a new colour option: Lunar Green. With a new CAN-based communication system making it more intelligent, this upgrade solidifies its position as a market leader by providing smarter, more efficient electric motorcycle options for riders.
