Retail Two-Wheeler Sales October 2024 - Hero Reclaims Crown
Retail two-wheeler sales numbers in October 2024 rose by over 36 per cent compared to the same month in 2023 while M-o-M sales rose by over 71 per cent compared to September as riders took advantage of the savings on offer for Dusshera and Diwali.
In total, 2,065,095 new two-wheelers found new homes in October an increase of 36.34 per cent (550,461 units) over October 2023 (1,514,634 units sold). Month-over-month sales numbers rose by 71.48 per cent (860,836 units) compared to September 2024's 1,204,259 units sold.

Topping the sales charts thanks to the double festive bonus of Dusshera and Diwali in October was Hero, the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer. Hero sold a total of 576,532 units in October, which was 37.7 per cent (157,860 units)more than October 2023's 418,672 units. M-o-M sales numbers for Hero rose by 112.44 per cent (305,142 units) compared to September's 271,390 units sold.
Japanese two-wheeler giant Honda claimed the second spot selling 554,249 units last month. Honda's Year-over-year numbers rose by 37.37 per cent (150,654 units) compared to October 2023 (403,604 units). M-o-M numbers rose by 65.98 per cent (220,322 units) compared to the 333,923 units sold by Honda in September.

Taking the third spot on the list was Chennai-based TVS Motor Company which sold 351,950 two-wheelers last month. Y-o-Y numbers for TVS rose by 39.46 per cent (99,591 units) compared to October 2023's 2,52,359 units. M-o-M numbers rose by 59.07 per cent (130,693 units) compared to the 221,257 units sold in September.
Bajaj took the fourth spot on the retail sales charts selling 230,254 units last month. Bajaj's Y-o-Y numbers rose by 28.41 per cent (50,946 units) compared to October 2023's 179,308 units. M-o-M metrics were also in the black, rising by 62.53 per cent (88,586 units) compared to September's 141,668 units.

Taking fifth on the sales charts was another Japanese two-wheeler giant - Suzuki, which sold 106,632 new two-wheelers last month. Suzuki's Y-o-Y numbers rose by 32.82 per cent (26,.354 units) compared to October 2023's 80,278 units. M-o-M numbers rose by 43.18 per cent (32,075 units) compared to September's 74,287 units.
Royal Enfield (95,113 units), Yamaha (68,153 units), Ola (41,651 units), Ather (15,993 units)and Jawa Yezdi (4,180 units) took up the other places as the top 10 two-wheeler manufacturers for October with Ola leading the electric two-wheeler segment taking a commanding 27.42 per cent share of all-electric two-wheelers sold in India last month.
