Ola Gig & Gig+ Electric Scooters Launched In India: Prices Start At Rs 39,999

Ola has unveiled its first electric scooter aimed at businesses in India, named the Gig. This scooter is available in two models: the Gig and the Gig+. The starting price for the Gig is Rs 39,999, while the Gig+ is priced at Rs 49,999. Deliveries are expected to commence in April 2025.

Design and Features of Ola Gig

The Ola Gig is crafted as a commercial vehicle, featuring a spacious single seat and a large rear carrier. It employs drum brakes on both ends and a telescopic front fork. The base model is equipped with a modest 250-watt motor, allowing it to reach speeds of up to 25kph. This speed means it doesn't require registration for road use.

Motor and Speed Specifications

The more advanced Gig+ variant boasts a robust 1.5kW motor, achieving a top speed of 45kph. Due to this higher speed, registration is necessary for road usage. Both scooters utilise a removable 1.5kWh battery pack, with an option to add another pack for the Gig+ model.

Battery Range and Charging

Ola claims that the Gig offers a range of 112km on a single charge. For the Gig+, the range varies between 81km with one battery and up to 157km with two batteries. The scooters can be started using app-based access, although specific charging times have not been disclosed yet.
