Matter Tech Day 2.0 Highlights: Aera Steals the Show with Innovation
Matter Group, a leading player in energy and EV technology, has taken a big step forward for the electric vehicle industry in India. They recently unveiled their groundbreaking electric motorcycle, the Matter Aera, at the Tech Day 2.0 event held at their Tech Research and Development Centre in Ahmedabad.
This event is a major milestone for the Indian EV market, showcasing Matter's dedication to pushing the boundaries of innovation and sustainability in electric transportation.

A Holistic Approach to Electric Mobility
Matter's philosophy centers around vertical integration, a strategy that goes beyond merely manufacturing components in isolation. This approach enables the company to oversee every stage of its electric bikes' creation - from the initial concept, through to design, development, and assembly.
This process ensures that every aspect of AERA and its revolutionary technology aligns with Matter's core values of delivering performance, safety, security, and reliability.
Innovations Unveiled at Tech Day 2.0
The Tech Day 2.0 was not just an event but a platform for Matter to unveil 'AERATOMY,' a detailed understanding of the Aera motorcycle, showcasing its advanced technological features.
At the heart of Aera lies the Powertrain, showcasing an in-house designed and tested electric motor and gearbox (yes, you read that right) that optimizes performance. Alongside it, the Powerpack, powered by Matter's extensive R&D, houses a robust battery pack, Battery Management System (BMS), and Diagnostic Telemetry Unit (DTU) to ensure a reliable and efficient energy source.
Further setting AERA apart is India's first liquid cooling system for an electric two-wheeler, guaranteeing optimal performance and longevity of its core components.
The rider's experience is elevated by the Smart Vehicle Instrument Cluster (VIC), featuring a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen loaded with features for an intelligent and intuitive interface.

Convenience is further enhanced by the in-house developed onboard charger, reflecting Matter's commitment to effortless integration of electric vehicles into daily life. Finally, the Body Control Unit (BCU) acts as the central nervous system, coordinating various functions and ensuring overall reliability and security.
These technological advancements are underpinned by Matter's in-house hyper-scalable tech stack, focusing on core technologies like drivetrain, power electronics, battery systems, and connected experiences supported by robust digital and embedded software.
A Vision for the Future
MATTER's ambitions are not just confined to technological innovation. Over the years, the company has established a significant intellectual property (IP) presence, filing 202 patents, 63 designs, and 215 trademarks, showcasing its commitment to pioneering the EV space in India.
Mohal Lalbhai, Founder and CEO of Matter, emphasized the company's drive to push boundaries and set new standards in the EV industry. Kumar Prasad Telikepalli, Founder and Group CTO of Matter, also echoed this sentiment, highlighting the innovative riding experience offered by Aera as a testament to the company's unapologetic approach to product development.
DriveSpark Thinks
Matter is firmly on the path to achieving its ambitious goal of selling 1 million EV two-wheelers and generating revenues of over $2 billion in the next five years. This vision underscores Matter's pivotal role in transforming the electric vehicle ecosystem in India, driving the country toward a more sustainable and innovative future in mobility.
The Matter Tech Day 2.0 and the unveiling of the Matter Aera electric motorcycle mark a significant advancement in the electric vehicle landscape. With its holistic approach to electric mobility, cutting-edge technological innovations, and ambitious future goals, Matter is poised to redefine the standards of electric transportation in India and contribute significantly to the global shift towards sustainable mobility solutions.
