KTM 890 Adventure R Launched At Rs 15.8 Lakh - The Middleweight Orange Offroader
Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM has brought its range of larger capacity motorcycles to India and has launched the 890 Adventure R. The KTM 890 Adventure R ADV is priced at Rs 15.8 lakh (ex-showroom) and will take on the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE and the BMW F 900 GS lineup.
The KTM 890 Adventure R like its naked sibling the 890 Duke R is powered by a liquid-cooled 889cc, parallel-twin engine that pushes out 103.7bhp and 100Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and also gets a slipper clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter.
The KTM 890 Adventure R features a Chromium-Molybdenum-Steel frame and subframe with the former using the engine as a stressed element. It sports a WP Xplor USD front fork and a WP Xplor PDS monoshock at the rear to take care of the rough stuff.
The KTM 890 Adventure R ADV rides on a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel. These spoked aluminium wheels come shod with Pirelli's Scorpion STR dual-purpose tyres.
The 890 Adventure R's bodywork is inspired by the firm's Dakar Rally-winning KTM 450 Rally motorcycle. The ADV features a beak-like nose, a split LED headlight setup with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, a short windscreen and a high front fender. The bodywork features white, blue and orange graphics.
The new KTM 890 Adventure R sports a 5-inch TFT display which can connect with your device via Bluetooth and the KTM connect app that also enables turn-by-turn navigation, music playback and the ability to take calls.
KTM's 890 Adventure R comes packed with a host of safety features like cornering and off-roading ABS, traction control, multiple ride modes, cruise control and a host of other riding aids.
