Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles recently launched the Jawa 42 FJ 350 motorcycle ahead of the festive season. With launch price ranging from ₹1.99 lakh to ₹2.22 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the Jawa 42 FJ 350 are now open, with the company accepting reservations both online and at dealerships.

For those eager to secure this retro-styled motorcycle, a nominal fee of ₹942 is set for the initial booking. As anticipation builds, the manufacturer has announced that deliveries will begin on October 2, 2024, setting the stage for what promises to be a bustling festive season for motorcycle enthusiasts.

Design Innovations

In terms of design, the Jawa 42 FJ 350 features an aggressive tear-drop fuel tank emblazoned with the iconic 'Jawa' branding. While it retains the side panels and fenders of the classic Jawa 42, it introduces a new seat design and handlebar positioning, optimizing the riding posture. The motorcycle's aesthetic is further enhanced by machined-finish alloy wheels, upswept exhausts, and an off-set fuel tank cap.

Enhanced Features

Among its notable features are an LED headlamp, a semi-digital instrument console, dual-channel ABS, and an assist and slipper clutch, all aimed at delivering an improved riding experience.

Performance Upgrades

A significant upgrade is evident in the Jawa 42 FJ 350's powertrain. It now boasts a 334 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, a step up from the 293 cc engine of the standard model. This engine, shared with the Yezdi Adventure and the updated Jawa 350, promises enhanced cooling, reduced noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) levels, and a marked improvement in performance.

Also, unlike the Jawa 350's low-compression setup, the Jawa 42 FJ 350 features a high-compression motor, delivering 28.7 bhp of peak power and 29.6 Nm of peak torque, coupled with a six-speed gearbox and an assist and slipper clutch for a smooth riding experience.

The Jawa 42 FJ 350 is available in two variants, catering to different preferences for spoke and alloy wheels. Riders can choose from five captivating colour options: Mystique Copper, Deep Black Matte Black Clad, Aurora Green Matte, Deep Black Matte Red Clad, and Cosmo Blue Matte. This diversity in choices emphasizes the brand's commitment to catering to individual tastes and styles.

Dimensions & Other Specs

Dimension-wise, the Jawa 42 FJ 350 presents a longer wheelbase than its predecessor at 1,440 mm, with a seat height of 790 mm and a ground clearance of 178 mm. The motorcycle's weight, without fuel, is 184 kg, slightly heavier by 2 kg than the standard Jawa 42, indicating the additional features and enhancements it carries.

The Jawa 42 FJ 350's suspension system comprises 41 mm telescopic front forks with 135 mm of travel and five-step adjustable twin shock absorbers at the rear, offering 100 mm of travel.

Its braking power is assured by a 320 mm front disc and a rear disc brake, complemented by dual-channel ABS as a standard feature. Riding on 18-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, the motorcycle is equipped with a wide 140-section rear tyre, promising a stable and gripping ride.
