Ather Energy Surpasses TVS Motor In Indian EV Market Share For September 2024
The Indian EV market is undergoing significant changes, with Ather Energy and Ola Electric leading sales. Meanwhile, TVS Motor and Bajaj Auto are witnessing shifts in their market standings. Ather Energy's rise to second place is notable, surpassing TVS Motor with a 5.79% growth in September, achieving a 13.12% market share.
Market Dynamics and Key Players
Revolt Intellicorp experienced a slight decline in sales, with 624 units sold in September 2024 compared to 677 units in August. This represents a month-on-month decrease of 8.494%, resulting in a market share of 1.78%. Despite the drop, Revolt remains a significant player in the electric vehicle (EV) sector.

Kinetic Green reported an increase in sales, moving from 356 units in August to 400 units in September, marking an 11% growth month-on-month. This improvement has elevated their market share to 1.14%. Kinetic Green's progress reflects growing interest in diverse EV options within India.
Wardwizard Innovations saw a reduction in sales from 667 units in August to 587 units in September, reflecting a -13.629% growth rate. Their market share currently stands at 1.68%. Although smaller, Wardwizard contributes to the variety of EV choices available to consumers.
Strategic Moves by Leading Companies
TVS Motor has adapted by selling its iQube electric scooter on Flipkart and participating actively in events to enhance its presence despite slipping to third place. Hero MotoCorp and Bajaj Auto, ranked fourth and fifth respectively, are expanding product offerings and distribution networks to regain strength.
Hero MotoCorp is increasing Vida brand touchpoints and collaborating with Ather Energy on charging infrastructure development. Bajaj Auto is diversifying its Chetak electric scooter range with new models as part of its strategy to strengthen its position.

Greaves Electric and Bgauss Auto rank sixth and seventh, focusing on cost optimization and product line expansion respectively for better competitiveness. Revolt Intellicorp and Wardwizard Innovations remain important players despite lower sales figures, providing additional electric two-wheeler options.
