Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 Revealed – 100bhp, 3 Ride Modes & Much More

Sharing multiple components with the KTM 790 Duke, Husqvarna has just launched the Svartpilen 801. It is also worth mentioning that the Svartpilen 801 is Husqvarna’s most powerful street-oriented motorcycle.

Husqvarna and KTM have built multiple bikes sharing common components. This collaboration gives customers the option between similar bikes with different design styles. The Svartpilen is more of a scrambler style, whereas the 790 is more of a naked street-fighter.

The Svartpilen 801 is powered by the same 799cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine found in the KTM 790 Duke. This beast of an engine produces 100bhp and 87 Nm of torque that sends power to the rear wheel through a 6-speed transmission with a quick shifter.

The powerful parallel-twin engine helps this 801 get going, but making the bike stop is just as important. With that in mind, Husqvarna has opted for the J.Juan 4-piston radially-mounted calipers paired with twin 300mm discs in the front and a 240mm disc in the rear.

Apart from the engine, the Svartpilen 801 uses the frame from the KTM 790 Duke as well. However, unlike the non-adjustable WP suspension seen on the 790, the Husqvarna is equipped with a fully adjustable suspension system from WP.

The Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 has 3 riding modes, Rain, Street, and Sport. Apart from the riding mode, riders can also manually switch between different levels of ABS and traction control. Features like cruise control and 5-level wheelie control can be opted for through the Dynamic Pack.

All of the features and ride modes are managed through a fresh 5-inch TFT display and switchgear, designed similarly to the new KTM 990 Duke, the Gen 3 390 Duke, and the 2024 Svartpilen 401. Unlike many other high-capacity KTM models, Bluetooth connectivity comes as standard, with turn-by-turn navigation and notification alerts on the dashboard if you connect your smartphone.

Currently, Husqvarna is yet to announce whether the Indian market will see the Svartpilen 801 or not. KTM discontinued the distribution of the Duke 790 in India in 2020, after which the Pierer Group’s subsidiaries have not entered the big-bike segment in the Indian market.

DriveSpark Thinks

Pierer Group’s subsidiary has not had a high-capacity bike available in the Indian domestic market for over 3 years now and the Industry has significantly changed and improved over the past few years. If Husqvarna brings Svartpilen 801 to India, we expect a good response from the market.
