Honda Motorcycle India Achieves 5,83,633 Unit Sales With 11% Growth In September 2024
Starting the festive season on a celebratory note, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) experienced a significant surge in sales for September 2024. The company saw its total dispatches reach 5,83,633 units, marking an 11% increase from the previous year. This growth was buoyed by domestic sales of 5,36,391 units and a substantial 47,242 units in exports. Notably, the domestic market grew by 9%, while export figures soared by an impressive 34% compared to the same period last year.
Reflecting on the year-to-date figures from April to September 2024, HMSI reported domestic sales of 28,81,419 units and exports tallying up to 2,76,958 units. This showcases the company's strong performance and growing demand for its products both within India and internationally.

A highlight for HMSI in September 2024 was achieving a significant milestone in its business operations. The company proudly announced that it had cumulatively sold over 10 million units of the 'Activa' in the vibrant South Indian region, including states and union territories such as Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and the islands of Puducherry and Andaman & Nicobar.
Road Safety Initiatives and Corporate Social Responsibility
In addition to its commercial success, HMSI has been actively involved in promoting road safety awareness across India. Throughout September, the company ran campaigns in 12 different cities, including Sukna, Ahmedabad, Barrackpore, Bhilai, Bhubaneswar, Bhavnagar, Tirupati, Dindigul, Baramati, Ayodhya, Solan, and Ajmer.
These initiatives aimed to educate the public on safe driving practices. Moreover, HMSI celebrated the 5th anniversary of its Safety Driving Education Centre in Kozhikode, Kerala. The company also held Road Safety Conventions with school principals in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, focusing on developing a safety mindset among future generations.
Honda India Foundation (HIF), in collaboration with the Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC) and Visan Foundation, introduced "Project Buniyaad - Aathmanirbharta Ka Aadhar" in Mizoram. This project is designed to offer employment opportunities to unemployed youth from marginalized sections of society.
Additionally, HIF hosted a felicitation ceremony for the top performers of the Honda ki Pathshala at Honda Samajik Vikas Kendra, a comprehensive skill development center in Naurangpur, Haryana.
Motorsports Achievements
In motorsports, HMSI saw remarkable achievements in September 2024. Mohsin Paramban clinched double victory in the 4th round of the 2024 IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup NSF250 category. He was followed by Prakash Kamat and Siddesh Sawant, who secured second and third places, respectively.
The IDEMITSU Honda Racing India team also added to their success by earning a point in the 5th round of the 2024 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship. This achievement brought their season total to 13 points in the Asia Production 250cc (AP250) class.
HMSI not only demonstrated robust sales performance in September 2024 but also actively engaged in road safety education, social responsibility projects, and motorsports, reinforcing its commitment to societal welfare and sportsmanship.
