Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Achieves 43% Sales Surge In July 2024
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has reported a significant rise in its sales figures for July 2024. The company dispatched 4,83,100 units during the month, marking a 43% year-on-year growth. This includes 4,39,118 units sold domestically and 43,982 units exported. Domestic sales saw a 41% increase, while exports surged by 60% compared to the same period last year.
Key Milestones and Achievements
HMSI achieved a major milestone by selling 5 million units in Tamil Nadu. This accomplishment underscores the brand's popularity among two-wheeler buyers in this South Indian state. Additionally, HMSI expanded its dealership network by opening BigWing dealerships in Hooghly (West Bengal), Ongole (Andhra Pradesh), and Burdwan (West Bengal).

In motorsports, the IDEMITSU Honda Racing India team showcased their skills at the Round 4 of the 2024 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship. The event took place at Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Lombok, Indonesia. Mohsin Paramban led the IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup NSF250R category in round 2, followed by Savion Sabu and A.S. James.
Road Safety Initiatives
HMSI continued its efforts to promote road safety across India. The company conducted awareness campaigns in cities such as Tezpur (Assam), Vidisha (Madhya Pradesh), Chengalpattu (Tamil Nadu), Rajkot (Gujarat), Jaipur (Rajasthan), Thane (Maharashtra), Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), Shirdi (Maharashtra), Krishnagiri (Tamil Nadu), Patna (Bihar) and Dehradun (Uttarakhand). HMSI also celebrated the eighth anniversary of its Traffic Training Park in Ludhiana (Punjab) and organised a Road Safety Convention with school principals in Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh).
Corporate Social Responsibility Efforts
The Honda India Foundation organised a 'Health Mela' in Burera Village of Tapukara, Rajasthan. Activities included women's health awareness sessions, health camps, street plays, blood donation drives, basic medical screenings, yoga sessions and road safety awareness for students.
Furthermore, HIF signed an MOU with Marriott Group of Hotels under Project Buniyaad to provide job placements for around 1,000 youths from North-eastern states and Jammu and Kashmir in the hospitality sector.
Overall, HMSI's achievements in July reflect its commitment to growth and community welfare through various initiatives and milestones.
