Upcoming Honda 300cc Motorcycles: CRF 300L, Rally, And Sahara 300 In India?

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India is hinting at launching three new models: the CRF 300L, CRF 300 Rally, and the Sahara 300. Recently, Honda held an event at BigRock Dirt Park where experienced off-road riders tested these motorcycles and provided feedback.

The CRF 300L and CRF 300 Rally share a 286 cc, single-cylinder engine producing 26.9 bhp and 26.6 Nm of torque. Both models feature dual-purpose tyres, a beak-like front mudguard, a bench seat, and an upswept exhaust. They also come with halogen headlamps and LCD instrument clusters. Suspension is managed by 43 mm upside-down forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear.

The Sahara 300, available globally in Standard, Rally, and Adventure variants, uses a 293 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC motor. This engine generates 25.2 bhp on ethanol and 24.8 bhp on petrol, with a peak torque of 27 Nm. It also features a 6-speed gearbox.

Honda has been expanding its lineup in India, filing several design patents for big motorcycles. The company introduced the Transalp last year and the NX500 earlier this year. The new 300 cc models could follow soon, although it's unclear if they will be Completely Built Units (CBU) or Completely Knocked Down (CKD) units.

If launched, these models might be priced around ₹3 lakh, with the Sahara 300 fitting well between the CB200X and CB500X in Honda's Indian lineup.

DriveSpark Thinks

The CRF 300L is expected to be a versatile option for both on-road and off-road adventures, while the CRF 300 Rally is designed with rally racing in mind, offering a blend of performance and endurance. On the other hand, the Sahara 300 is anticipated to cater to riders looking for a more relaxed and comfortable off-road experience.

The feedback from the riders at the event will likely play a crucial role in fine-tuning these models before their official launch, ensuring that they meet the expectations of motorcycle enthusiasts in the Indian market. Honda's focus on expanding its off-road lineup reflects its commitment to providing a diverse range of options for riders with varying preferences and riding styles.
