Honda CB300R, CB300F & CB350 Models Recalled In India

Honda has initiated a voluntary recall for certain 300cc and 350cc motorcycles to enhance customer satisfaction. Owners of the affected models will be notified through phone calls, emails, and SMS. Additionally, users can verify if their bike is part of the recall by entering their VIN on the Honda BigWing website.

The recall affects Honda CB300R, CB300F, CB350, CB350RS, and H'ness 350 models. An investigation revealed that an improper molding process was used during the manufacturing of the speed wheel sensor. This issue pertains to motorcycles produced between October 2020 and April 2024. However, Honda has not disclosed the total number of bikes impacted by this problem.

Speed Sensor Malfunction

The faulty molding process may expose the speed wheel sensor to water, potentially causing it to malfunction. This malfunction can affect various systems like traction control, speedometer, and ABS. In severe cases, it might lead to ineffective braking due to compromised front and rear wheel speed sensors.

Despite not advising customers to stop using affected bikes, Honda suggests owners exercise caution. They can await communication from Honda or check their status on the Honda BigWing website using their VIN. Affected owners are encouraged to schedule service appointments in advance to prevent dealership congestion.

Free Replacement at Dealerships

The replacement of the defective part will be free of charge at BigWing dealerships across India, regardless of warranty status. However, Honda has not specified a timeline for completing these replacements.

This issue also affects specific units of CB350, CB350RS, and H'ness CB350 due to an improper camshaft manufacturing process. This could potentially impact optimal vehicle performance. The recall applies to units manufactured between June 2024 and July 2024 as a precautionary measure.

Previous Recall Instances

Last December, Honda recalled CB350 and CB350RS models due to issues with the brake light and bank angle sensor. Affected customers received free replacements at that time as well.

Honda is reaching out to owners of impacted units via call, SMS, or email for this latest recall effort. The company remains committed to addressing these issues promptly and ensuring customer safety.
