Honda Expands BigWing Range With Affordable Hornet 2.0 And CB200X Models
Honda's BigWing dealerships have now included the Hornet 2.0 and CB200X in their lineup. This strategic move aims to enhance sales at these outlets, which typically see lower sales volumes compared to regular Honda two-wheeler dealerships.
Affordable Options at BigWing
The Hornet 2.0 has become the most affordable motorcycle available at a BigWing dealership. Despite this new inclusion, the prices of these models remain unchanged. The Hornet 2.0 is priced at Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), while the CB200X costs Rs 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Both the Hornet 2.0 and CB200X are powered by a 184cc single-cylinder engine, delivering 17.26hp at 8,500rpm and 15.9Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. These specifications ensure a robust performance for both models.
Design and Features
The CB200X stands out with its adventure-style design elements such as a fairing, tall windscreen, knuckle guards, and a plastic belly pan. These features give it a more rugged appearance compared to the street naked Hornet 2.0.
The inclusion of these models signifies a shift in Honda's product positioning strategy within their BigWing showrooms. By offering more affordable options alongside their premium motorcycles like the CB350, CB350RS, and H'ness CB350, Honda aims to attract a broader customer base.
This move could potentially boost sales at BigWing dealerships by catering to customers looking for mid-range motorcycles with premium features and design.

In June 2024 bike and scooter sales, Honda has managed to close the gap with Hero significantly. This indicates a positive trend for Honda's market presence in India.
The addition of the Hornet 2.0 and CB200X to BigWing showrooms reflects Honda's efforts to diversify its offerings and appeal to different segments of motorcycle enthusiasts.
By maintaining competitive pricing while expanding their product range, Honda is likely aiming to strengthen its foothold in the Indian motorcycle market.
This strategic inclusion of more affordable models could lead to increased footfall in BigWing showrooms, thereby enhancing overall sales performance for Honda.
